"RST has opened up newcareer prospects for me"

My career at RST Rostock System-Technik began as a working student. During my studies in environmental engineering at the University of Rostock, I supported the Cabin Customisation department. This was a truly valuable experience for me because it made me realize that I personally find the field of IT much more exciting than engineering-related activities. After completing my master’s thesis in close collaboration with RST, I reflected on my changed focus and strengths together with my supervisor at the time to find a suitable position within the company. I successfully transitioned to a permanent position as a Data Analyst at RST in May 2024.

As a career starter, I am initially familiarized with the various IT systems of our customers. Later, my work will focus on data science. At the same time, I will be responsible for automating time-consuming manual tasks at RST. This is perfect because repetitive manual tasks have always been a headache for me! Now I can create solutions here that not only make everyday work easier for my colleagues and me, but also increase our efficiency at the same time.

When asked what makes working at RST special for me, I can only agree with the statements of the other ‘insiders’ on this homepage: Clearly, it’s the mix of a great team of colleagues and an extraordinary company location. From day one as a working student at RST, I was treated as a colleague at eye level. Additionally, I can practice my dream job in my home country and in close proximity to the sea. I wouldn’t want to miss either!
