Where Nobel Prize winnersare at home

On September 17th, the sales teams of FERCHAU Aviation and RST experienced a special outing: as part of the FERCHAU Aviation Group International Sales Meeting, they visited the Max Planck Institute for Quantum Optics in Garching. Here, none other than Ferenc Krausz, who was awarded the 2023 Nobel Prize in Physics, conducts his research.

Together with Anne L’Huillier (Lund University) and Pierre Agostini (Ohio State University), Krausz developed a groundbreaking experimental method to produce attosecond light pulses. These ultra-fast light pulses – lasting only a billionth of a billionth of a second – enable snapshots of the fastest processes in nature: the movement of electrons in atoms and molecules.

Being able to admire the research infrastructure up close was more than just an inspiring experience for the RST sales team; it also motivated us to continue supporting institutes like those of the Max Planck Society with individual specialized tools for their cutting-edge research.
