Airbus A320 cabinsimulator for KLM

The challenge

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, the national airline of the Netherlands, relies on the extensive cabin expertise of RST Rostock System-Technik: the airline has added a cabin simulator for the Airbus A320 aircraft model to its training center in Schiphol. The modern cabin simulators from RST are used to train the aircraft crew in order to be able to practice important operating procedures - from passenger service to emergency evacuation - in a safe environment.

Based on established standard simulators for the Airbus A320, the simulator was specifically tailored to KLM's training needs.

The solution

The aim of KLM's training concept is to enable the aircraft crew to make an individual and holistic assessment of hazardous situations. With this in mind, the A320 cabin simulator enables virtual training on the emergency slide (virtual slide) in addition to classic hands-on training. Spectators can follow the training process in the debriefing area on a platform docked to the simulator. The cameras installed in the interior and a screen ensure that they don't miss a single detail.
