GSE for SARahsatellite programme
The challenge
Airbus Defence and Space supplies a radar satellite assembled in Friedrichshafen for SARah, the new reconaissance system of the German Armed Forces. In order to ensure that assembly can take place without any damages whilst taking the complex technical requirements into consideration, specific handling products, operating equipment and testing equipment are essential. RST Rostock System-Technik belonged to the suppliers selected to develop and provide the correspondingly critical infrastructure required.

The solution
Based on a detailed performance specification, RST was responsible for the development, production and delivery of the following mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE):
- Storage & transport containers
- Multi-purpose trolleys
- Stands
- Adapters
- Lifting tools
Additionally, RST developed electrical ground support equipment (EGSE) for the propulsion sub-system and for the safe performance of high-frequency tests.
