The challenge
The European Space Agency ESA, Airbus Defence and Space and TTTech plan to use the "time-triggered Ethernet" technology (according to SAE AS6802) originally applied in an industrial context for space purposes.
Within the scope of the development programme, it was important to manufacture a functional demonstrator in order to enable applicability under space conditions.

The solution
Based on a technically developed concept, RST Rostock System-Technik assumed the development and production of the functional demonstrator and accompanied the ensuing tests.
The development included wide-ranging thermal and structural analyses which decisively influenced the PCB design as well as its subsequent manufacturing and assembly.
